Cute, funny and kinda creepy all at once: Kiss Hatsune Miku with the Oculus Rift!

It's strange, weird and kind of amazing. Using the Oculus Rift, some sort of motorized arm and augmented reality, someone managed to create a system that lets you virtually kiss Hatsune Miku.

I don't know how satisfying this would be, but the way she blushes is pretty cute. It's definitely amusing to watch!

Omega Quintet full trailer and screenshots revealed!

The full trailer for Omega Quintet (as opposed to the teaser trailer I posted here) has been revealed on Compile Heart's Youtube. The trailer extends the song played in the teaser trailer and reveals the girls names: Otaha (red dress), Kyoka (blue dress), Aria (purple dress), Nene (orange dress) and Kanadeko (green dress). Siliconera posted a great article, with translated character descriptions from the Famitsu game reveal. You can check that out here.

Also from the Siliconera article, some new screenshots from the game:

(side note: their outfits remind me of a cross between Sailor Moon and Madoka....which is pretty much every magical girl fan's dream)

Omega Quintet is scheduled for a September 18, 2014 release in Japan (no localisation news as of yet...yet dammit) on Playstation 4. You can pre-order the standard or limited edition of Omega Quintet (Japanese) from Play-Asia.com.

Sunday Musings #4: Mother's Day, @JRPGJungle and not enough time to play games

Ahoy hoy!

This last week feels like it took forever, yet I didn't have enough time. I actually spent a lot of my time brainstorming and working on ways to make this blog better! I'm really enjoying having more time to work on this site, but I'm trying to balance that time so I still have time to game. Obviously running this blog, I like JRPGs. This blog is pointless if I'm not playing them. But hopefully next week I can establish an improved routine!

If you use twitter, you may be pleased to know this blog now has a twitter: @JRPGJungle. Please follow us if you read the site! Not only does it help out, I'm hoping that it can help notify any readers of when new posts are up. The main reason I started this blog is because I didn't have any friends that were into JRPGs - this Twitter will also be where I put my random thoughts and musings while I game so please come hang out. :)

This weeks 'what I've been playing' is a tad short. I think I've found a way to adjust some of my time though so I have more time next week...which means more to report on! But anyway:

Child of Light (PS4)

I wish I could say I'm further into Child of Light, but I think I'm nearly halfway. This game is beautiful, honestly I said a lot of how I felt in my first impressions. I love flying in this game, I'm impressed by the combat and I'm really excited to see the story develop a little more.

Blazblue Continuum Extend (PS Vita)

I finished Taokaka's story and have begun Rachel's, with the above experience describing the funniest game dialogue I have possibly ever had the joy of witnessing.

I was somewhat let down by Taokaka's story to be honest. She's a cool character and I find her funny, but her story is a large step below Ragna's and Noel's in quality. I understand that Tao provides comic relief, but I think their attempt to try to give her a purpose could have been stronger and I really would've loved to have seen Tao develop more as a person.

After a lovely Mother's Day with my family, I'm off to get ready for the week. I'm currently working on a few features and gaming a lot more. Let's hope I have more to say next week so this feature doesn't get boring. Please tell me what you have been playing so I can be jealous! :)

Happy mid-May!

Final Fantasy III coming to Steam

A listing on Steam has revealed that Final Fantasy III is coming to PC. While no official date has been confirmed, the game will include new and improved 3D visuals, upgraded graphics, Steam Achievements, easier browsing through bestiary and new visual designs for job mastery cards.

Pretty keen for this, I haven't had a chance to play Final Fantasy III yet. More news as I see it!

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection available for pre-order in Australia!

For fellow Australia's who thought that they would be importing Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection, I have good news! The game is available now for pre-order from both JB Hi-Fi and EB Games websites. There are no pre-order exclusives, but it's nice to know that a kooky game like this is coming to our shores.

Hyperdimension Neptunia: Producing Perfection allows the player to play music producer to the girls of Gameindustri. Honestly, they had me at songs and stage costumes, but the game will also feature a story and the ability to level up the girls Idol abilities. I'm dumb amounts of keen for this.

The game is coming to Australia on June 5th, 2014.

Island Days delayed until July

Part visual novel, part tower defense game Island Days on 3DS (a spin off of the School Days visual novel) has been delayed by Klon to add more content to the game. I think that's pretty awesome - better than getting it as DLC!

Did you play School Days?

I didn't. That's kind of where I draw the line on my J-RPGs/Visual Novels. However I did watch the School Days anime in one day with George. At first I hated it - I thought it was way too dramatic and cliche. Despite this, we watched the whole series while consistently trying to stop watching. I don't know at what episode it happened, but the whole show became like a car crash. It was dramatic, over the top and yet I was suddenly extremely emotionally involved. A lot of near-yelling at the TV during episodes was had. It was pretty fun.

Anyway, you can pre-order Island Days for 3DS (Japanese game) at Play-Asia.
